The Secondary Education Department has made an official announcement regarding the holiday calendar for March 2025 in schools and colleges. The month offers a plethora of cultural festivities coupled with academic breaks, thus giving students some time to rejuvenate and provide balance to studies.
Since the board exams have begun in most states, these holidays come as a boon to the students to pause, and keep focus on preparations.
Details of March Holidays
March will set aside between ten and twelve days for students to celebrate major Hindu and Muslim festivals, hence here is a list of all the important holidays:
- Eid ul-Fitr (31st March 2025):
Eid ul-Fitr is celebrated by the Muslim community when Ramadan ends. Hence schools will be closed on the 31st of March for students to partake in the celebrations. - Holi (14th March 2025):
The festival of Holi celebrates color and joy for the Hindu community and falls on 14th March. This day is a declared holiday, thus allowing students to celebrate the festival of color.
Note: There are no official holidays for Holika Dahan or Rang Panchami.
Five Sundays in March 2025
March 2025 is unique as it includes five Sundays, providing additional relaxation for students. The dates are:
- 2nd March
- 9th March
- 16th March
- 23rd March
- 30th March
